Seward Engineering

My engineering business, Seward Engineering, has been running since 1985, for 12 of those, I have been a BETA trials bike main dealer.

Bikes and cars have been a lifelong passion of mine, inspired by my father’s large collection of pre-65 bikes – BSAs, Triumphs, Ariels and more – many of which he has built, or rebuilt himself.

I started competing in trials as a schoolboy – some 35 years ago - winning three Cornish Centre Championships and competing in the Scottish Six Days. I last took part in 2004. This led on to Enduro Sidecar Riding and, after an injury, I took up trials car driving, and manufacturing, which has evolved to building pre-65 trials bikes, when a friend asked us to build us one.

We created a standard engined MSR frame, which weighed in wet at 69 kilos and he went on to win the South West Clubman Championship outright, against modern bikes.

So a new concept was born…
